A place of residence for French royalty from the 15th to 19th centuries, the castle has hosted a long list of famous renaissance figures — most notably, Leonardo da Vinci, whose tomb stands in one of the Château’s chapels.
Experience a classic expression of French luxury as you wander the balconies, terraced gardens, and broad roofs, all providing a panoramic view of the famous Loire River. Explore the grounds and buildings further with the Histopad, a tablet-based experience that grants visitors a look back in time to the château in its heyday.

La visite a duré 30 minutes , très très déçue , il n y avait quasi rien à voir 3 salles au premier étages et 3 salles au deuxième étages , puis vous arrivez sur les toits et redescendez gentiment vers les jardins , fin de la viste : 17€ par personne !!! C’est de l’abus
Plutôt décevant. Manque d’authenticité : ne sont présentés quasiment que des fac similés, des copies, des œuvres réalisées « d’après… ». L’agencement des salles est peu élaboré et l’on a du mal à se projeter au cœur de l’histoire.

Very nice castle to visit. Well furnished and clean. The view of the ramparts is awesome. The town of Amboise at the foot of the castle is very interesting.
The tablets were able to explain each room!
