Planning Your Cannes Visit
Sun protection
Due to its sunny location on the Mediterranean, it's vital to be sensible when it comes to sun protection.
Restaurants
To save money on food in this stomping ground of the rich and famous, go beyond the bustling Antibes Street where you will find some cheaper dining options.
Day trips
If you can't get enough of the swanky lifestyle, it's easy to get to the principality of Monaco by car or even by boat.
Stay safe
Unfortunately, where there's money, there's bound to be crime. Don't flash your cash, and dress casual unless the occasion calls for it.

- Best time to visit
- Unless you want to book well in advance and wrestle with thousands of other visitors, its best to avoid Cannes in May during its International Film Festival. Temperatures don't start to drop until November, and although its not an ideal time for swimming it will be the best time for your wallet!

What people are saying about Cannes
A great way of getting a taste of the areas around Nice
It’s a long day but a great way of seeing so many places in one go. You don’t have long (30mins or so) at each stop which can feel a bit rushed. It does mean that you get to see places where you might like to go back for longer. Guide was good; well organised, knowledgeable and helpful. Only one downside was the first trip to a perfume factory which was not on the itinerary and which was basically used to try to sell us all perfume. I guess the tour company gets some sort of kickback but I felt like we were being used and it was a waste of 45 minutes when we could have spent more time at other places. I wouldn’t not recommend the tour because of that, but just be ready!
Well worth the time and money for a comprehensive tour of Monaco.
Renault was very knowledgeable of the area, its history and the residents. Every minute of the four hour tour was jam packed with history and relevant trivia. There was an obligatory stop at the perfume factory tour that should have been shorter to allow more time in Eze- a charming historical village on a hill. But, overall, this was a fabulous and breathtaking experience.
Lovely ferry trip! Fort is fantastic with fab views! Beaches not good
Good organisation to ferries; remember to exchange voucher for tickets at the office. Lovely crossing; beautiful views. Fort fantastic; well worth a visit. Beaches/coves really not that appealing for a swim due to the dried seaweed on the beach which resembles feathers!!!! Yuk... best avoided; go for a walk & then head to Cannes beaches!
