Toulouse is a French city several hundred miles southwest of Paris. It sits on the River Garonne and is known as one of France's Pink Cities because of the distinctive reddish color of its brick architecture.

Visit the site of the Roman Catholic St Etienne Cathedral, mentioned as the location of a church as far back as the year 844. Construction of the cathedral began in 1073 and has continued for centuries since. Try to distinguish the various styles of architecture.

Canals from the 17th century criss-cross the region around Toulouse. The Canal du Midi is a long canal stretching that connects the Garonne River to both the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
