Top Tours & Activities in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
What People Are Saying About Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
A great trip that gives the chance to experience some incredible views of the Alps if the weather holds out and the cable cars are going up! A rather expensive tour all in but worth it for a one-off experience in your life. The glacial man-made ice cave involves going down 430 steps and back again to reach the entrance so people with mobility concerns might want to give this aspect a miss; the Montenvers train ride does give very scenic views in itself during the journey and from the top vantage point. Only a guided tour on the coach on the whole - you are mainly left to your own devices doing the cable car and train once you have been escorted to and from the restaurant. A optional place to meet for lunch is suggested and is extra to pay on top if you book this with Key Tours or you can opt to make your own arrangements. The coach often also serves as the standard line bus so members of the public might join the group as well for the transport service.
from train to cable car to 400 and more steps, so much packed in one day. all very safe and the programme was geared to run smoothly, which it did. I am not likely to do such activities again due to being now 80, but going up a mountain and inside a glacier can be crossed off my bucket list.
We were collected from our hotel which was perfect for us. The journey gave us an insight to the area and the treat that lay before us was wonderful. Just make sure you leave enough time to walk through Chamonix at the end. The buildings and squares are beautiful, it has a lovely atmosphere. Whatever you do, do not miss this trip.
At the beginning thought this trip was quite expensive but it was really worth the money. The driver was excellent, very friendly and helpful. The trip up Mont Blanc was unforgettable and the train trip and ice caves also spectacular. Longer walk than expected to the train and the climb back up from the caves really exhausting but well worth it. Cannot comment on the headphone commentary as this was not working. Really glad we did this trip as it was truly amazing.
Well worth the trip really spectacular views. Tour guide was really friendly & helpfull shame the tour bus commentary wasnt working though! Make sure you bring a jacket though can get pretty cold at 3842m! The ice caves at mer de glace are certainly not to be missed either!
