Come explore Malta on this half-day trip to popular attractions like Ħaġar Qim Temples, the Limestone Heritage, and the Blue Grotto. Be guided by a local and learn about the history of these locations as you take in the beauty they hold.
Start your exploration by visiting one of Malta's oldest quarries. Located in the traditional Maltese village of Siġġiewi, The Limestone Heritage Park & Gardens is a unique and innovative attraction that highlights the beauty of the Maltese stone and its incredible 22 million years of history. Immerse yourself in the islands’ eclectic history through an engaging audio-visual presentation and informative walk-through. Relish the opportunity to acquire an immense insight into the islands’ broad culture.
From there, proceed to the megalithic temples of Ħaġar Qim, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992. The complex is located on the southern edge of the island on a hilltop overlooking the sea and the islet of Filfa. Described by the World Heritage Sites committee as "unique architectural masterpieces" the temples can be traced back to circa 3600-3200 BC, which means they are over 5000 years old, pre-dating the pyramids of Egypt by approximately 1000 years.
Explore the site's central building and the remains of at least two more structures. Along the external wall, find some of the largest megaliths used in the building of these structures, such as a 5.2-meter high stone and a huge megalith estimated to weigh close to 20 tons.
Cap off your tour at the majestic Blue Grotto and seize the opportunity to appreciate breathtaking views as you gaze at the seven coastal caves. Admire the intense blue color of the ocean and the imposing rock formations. If the weather allows, you can also opt to take a boat trip around the area for an extra fee.

Maria our tour guide was amazing. She was full of information and you could tell she was passionate about the temples when she was talking about them. Slightly gutted that the boats weren’t running for the blue grotto. This was due to adverse weather though so not in their control. But it was still a good trip. I know I’ve said it once but I will say again, Maria was amazing!!
Thoroughly enjoyed the half day excursion to the Limestone Quarry, Temple and the Blue Grotto. Our guide, Phillip was brilliant and very knowledgeable
it was a little fast, not much time to savour the temple and museum as there were so many people. A smaller group would have been better so we didn't miss the guide. The audio in the museum was also going faster than we could walk because of the crowd
The tour guide, Donna, was wonderful. She explained everything in detail & made everybody's day a enjoyable experience. Thank you Donna.
I loved the boat trip to the Blue Grotto. I had taken a boat trip to Comino and Gozo the day before and was wondering if it would be worth to do this one but glad I did. Since Marsaxlokk seems to be in that area of the island it would be great to have a combined trip there. Thoug the length of the tour would have to be extended. The guide Mary made the tour much more enjoyable with her clear passionate explanations about archeology. In archeological sites I feel one loses a lot going alone. With Mary I learned a lot of details that I would otherwise miss so just for this it was worth it.
The Blue Grotto was absolutely fantastic – a true highlight of our trip to Malta. The vivid blue water, majestic rock formations, and peaceful atmosphere created an unforgettable moment. Visiting the Limestone Heritage Museum afterwards gave everything even more meaning — it added context and depth to what we had just seen, making us appreciate Malta's natural beauty and history even more. Thank you for such a special experience!
The tour was excellent from start to finish. Our guide, Anna was very knowledgeable & interesting
Tour was great the blue grotto cliffs were super cool!
The guide was great! she explained to us so well when we arrived at the temples. I wish we had more time at Blue Grotto. Only 30 mins is too little! We only took the boat ride and that was all! No tine for photos. Nothing.
