  1. Use Melbourne’s Free Tram Zone to save on transportation costs within the Central Business District (CBD). Make sure to download the Myki app to manage public transport tickets and plan your trips. Trams in the Free Tram Zone don’t require a Myki card.
  2. The weather can change quickly, so always carry a light jacket or umbrella, even in summer.

  4. Bring a water bottle, as public water fountains are widely available in Melbourne, especially in the CBD and popular public areas like parks.
  5. Keep in mind that many shops don’t stay open late. Most retail stores close by 5:00 or 6:00 PM, except on Fridays. Cafes typically close around 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
