Get to know Verona, and Lake Garda on this day trip from Milan. Your guide will take you to the famous Shakespearean sights of Romeo & Juliet, the Roman amphitheatre (internal visit not included in the tour) and before you finally will have an incredible panoramic view on the country's largest lake. After driving from Milan to Verona, you will be taken on a guided tour, following the footsteps of William Shakespeare's famous play 'Romeo & Juliet'. You will get to see the famous balcony of the Capulet residence where Romeo was said to have called out to his beloved Juliet. But Verona has even a lot more to offer: You will visit the famous Roman amphitheatre, which was built in the 1st century AD and where nowadays every summer Verona's well-known open air operas take place. Furthermore, the tour will take you to Piazza Mercato and other beautiful architectural places in downtown Verona. For lunch, you will be given some free time to explore the city by yourself and optionally do some shopping or simply enjoy the picturesque old town in one of Verona's splendid cafés! After lunch, we will continue our journey to Sirmione, a small fortified village at the end of a narrow peninsula that extends for about 4 km into Lake Garda and offers wonderful panoramic views on the eastern and western shores of the lake. Your guide will give you an extensive tour of the old town, before you may optionally join a boat tour on the lake.
