While you have to enter the park at your booked time slot, you can stay for as long as you like after and take it all in.

The trip was very funny and full of information about the city and the surroundings we were going through the ride. The whole ride was about 50min. and it ends at the start point of the cogwheel train ride that goes to the Montserrat mountain. That was around 5-10min. trip in which you can see some nice views of the valley - be sure to be on the left side of the train so you can have a better view. You have options for a small hiking tour that leads you to "a better "viewpoint of the valley for which the guide told us it's about 25 min to go there and 20-25 to get back. We booked the whole day trip, so as soon as the monastery trip was over we had back to the bus that was waiting for us nearby and we left for a winery not far for a great lunch and a wine-tasting. The food was delicious, the wine was good and the stories from our guide Nuri were very interesting and funny. After an hour we had back to the bus so we can get back to Barcelona.

The walk to Park Guell is all uphill so if you're not a walker, I would recommend taking a cab to the park entrance. The park itself is very beautiful, especially when you visit the columns underneath the main section that everyone flocks to see. You can do the park in 2 hours, be prepared to walk uphill and climbs stairs once inside the park. Very lovely day out, especially when the weather is good and you can slowly walk around the park.

It is a lovely park for walking and getting a nice view of the city. It has washrooms but no eating or beverage places within the park so take a bottle of water with you. The gift shop is pricey, as is the norm but there are several small stores just outside the park with better prices on similar items. This park has a lot of steps and my fitness level at 65+ was not sufficient to go on every path.
