Barcelona: Cathedral of Barcelona Entry Ticket

1. Barcelona: Cathedral of Barcelona Entry Ticket

Discover the jewel of Barcelona's famed Gothic Quarter with this entry ticket to the Cathedral of Barcelona. Learn about the historical background of this church which was constructed in the 14th and 15th centuries. Begin by going through the external doors of Pieta and Saint Eulalia to enter the cathedral's cloister. Next pass the Romanesque interior door, made of white marble and archivolts decorated with geometric patterns and a Gothic pediment. Wander through the cloister and its four galleries with ogive arches separated by pillars. Gaze at the reliefs sculpted into the pillars of the cloister arches, showing scenes from the Old Testament. Learn about the Holy Cross, and the keystones of the vault depicting scenes from the New Testament. Next take some time to check out the chapels arranged along the three galleries, each initially dedicated to the patron saint of an institution or guild, and placed under the protection of a specific family. Then observe the cloister garden with palm trees, magnolias, an orange tree, and a fountain. Here, the traditional “ou com balla” (dancing egg) takes place each year for the celebration of Corpus Christi. There is a large pond in the cloister that is home to the 13 white geese of the Cathedral. Continue by taking the elevator to the rooftops, through the chapel of the Innocent Saints, next to the door of San Ivo. From the rooftops, gaze upon the two bell towers, the two lateral pinnacles, the cimborio crowned by the Holy Cross, the cloister, and a spectacular panoramic view of Barcelona. After enjoying the rooftop views, visit the historic Chapter Hall, converted into a museum space. This is located under the gallery of the cloister, next to the chapel dedicated to Saint Lucia. Originally, it was the site of a soup kitchen for the poor. Once inside the Chapter Hall, wrap up by checking out the 11th-century lobed baptism font from the former Romanesque temple and the terracotta sculpture of Saint Eulalia by Giuliano di Nofri, from the pediment over the door of Saint Eulalia.

Our guide was Martina and she was really nice and knowledgable. She showed us few of Gaudi houses, walked us through Barcelona and then brough us to helipad. Helicopter ride is absolutely amazing experience and it is really not a problem even if you're afraid of hights. Martin was there to send us all of. Boat trip was done on our own and you can use it next day. Absolultely recommend this!

Our guide Laura was terrific. She lives in the neighborhood and gave us just the right combination of walking, and history. Our family of 6 adults ages 29-62 all thought she was delightful. She suggested a great place for drinks and tapas. It felt like time spent with a friend in Barcelona, rather than a guide.

Monserrat Fabregat was the best, was very knowledgeable and kind and helpful. She was beyond expectations. Even helped out to point that we were victims of pick pocket people previous to tour.

Marlon was a very friendly guide & full on great knowledge. We enjoyed ourselves.

Thank you! Easy to find and quick to get in. Super simple and helpful.
