From Brisbane: North Stradbroke Island Day Trip with Sunset

Spend the day on North Stradbroke Island with a guide. Enjoy scenic walks, beautiful lakes, and relaxing beaches as you learn about the island's history, culture, and wildlife. On the way back to the mainland watch as the sun sets into the sea. Start your morning with a departure from Brisbane at 9 AM. After a 45-minute drive to the ferry port, have the chance to purchase breakfast at the port or on the ferry during the crossing. Arrive at North Stradbroke Island and deboard the ferry to head to your first stop, Brown Lake. On the way there your tour guide will talk about the island as well as the historic and cultural importance of the Quandamooka people. Refresh and reenergize with the fresh and beautiful water of the lake. From there and after a quick stop at Myora Springs, your guide will take you to the northwest side of the island, a perfect lookout spot to take pictures and go for a walk at Cylinder Beach. Then head for one of the main attractions of the day, the Gorge Walk. On this 40 - 45 minute walk, take in views of the Coral Sea and its incredibly rich marine life, from manta rays, turtles, to dolphins and more. After the Gorge Walk, take a break to have lunch at Point Lookout. Following your lunch break, the tour will head to Amity Point. Your tour guide will take you on a walk to search for koalas in the wild. Optionally, if koala-spotting is not your thing, spend even more time at the beach instead. Conclude your day with a ferry ride back to the mainland in time to watch the sunset from the sea. Your expected arrival time in Brisbane is about 7 PM.

What an amazing day. First off to the brown lake and had a short stop there, was able to walk in the water. Then we started the North George Walk for around an hour before lunch. After lunch, we headed to cylinder beach and amity point and finally enjoyed sunset next to the jetty point. The weather was good; Katie was a very passionate and responsible guide (also a good driver) who introduced us to some history of the island and looked for wild koalas, kangaroos and dolphins for us. Luckily we met few!

The trip was amazing. It was made even more special by our guide Katie. She was truly a gem and this day more memorable. I would recommend this trip to anyone and even more so the guide Katie. This is my first trip to Australia and after having encountered a travel agent who found it a challenge to organise trips for me it was extra special to encounter a guide like Katie who made a better impression and added to making my Australian adventure memorable.

I liked everything, everything was well organized from being picked up at the meeting point to the return trip. We received a lot of explanations about our activities and had enough time for everything. All in all, it was a very nice day. 😊

As a first timer I really enjoyed the tour, Kate is the best tour guide, explaining everything, very welcoming and friendly, she was right on schedule and I am looking forward to my next trip

Excellent day with our guide Breet. Kangaroos, Koalas, Dolphins on the program.
