From Munich: Zugspitze Mountain Van Tour

Enjoy a day in the German Alps on a full-day excursion from Munich to the Zugspitze. You’ll travel to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where you’ll take a cable car up the 2962 meters to the summit of Germany’s tallest peak. The Zugspitze marks the international border between Germany and Austria. In fact there are lifts from both countries that meet at the top of the mountain. In addition restaurants and shops at the summit, there are also telescopes available. From the top you’ll have breathtaking views of the Alps which seem to stretch on forever. You’ll take a break for lunch at a small mountain hut, where you’ll also have lovely views over the peaks of the Alps and even into the Munich area. After lunch you’ll jump from Germany into Austria (no passport necessary). You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a beer in Germany’s highest beer garden! The final highlight of the tour is a round-trip ride through the mountains on a cog-wheel train.

Honestly, this was such a fun day and I’m really glad I did it! As a solo traveler in Germany, I wasn’t really comfortable doing the whole bus or train thing. Armin picked me up at my location and was so knowledgeable and informative - he knows so much about history and speaks like 10 languages! He made me and the other travelers feel really comfortable. The van is nice and new and super cozy. On this particular trip, we went to zugspitze and then he took us to Garmish to shop around for a little bit. He was even kind enough when it started raining to find everyone and bring them an umbrella. I can’t honestly recommend him and this particular tour enough! 10 stars because five is not enough. Armin made sure that everyone knew where the meeting point was, he helped us get our tickets and gave us a play-by-play the during the entire tour of history, buildings, culture, music and was super funny as well. He knows about all the various cultures of tourism - thanks Armin @bavarian tours 🤩

Take this trip! Mario had clear communication before our day trip and was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The van was clean and comfortable. Mario took us right to the ticket counter and made sure we knew where we were going. We stopped in Garmisch-Partenkirchen for some ice cream in the way home and the kids loved it it all!

What an unforgettable experience! The day turned out to be perfect thanks to the weather - from couldn’t see much in the thick clouds to blue sky with fast moving clouds adding lots of textures to the view in just a couple of hours! Simply spectacular! Sven was super nice and always has good tips, so no fear when Sven is near ;)

The guide was very nice and the trip to the Alps was interspersed with the cable car up close to 3000. It was very cold up and blistering with some snow drops. Overall very nice trip and well worth the experience. Thank you!

The pick-up and drop-off was on time, the conversation with the guide, the guidance, and the tour content were all wonderful. It was 8 hours, but I wish I could have spent more time! Thank you so much!
