Full description

Zoo Miami is the ideal place for an individual, a couple, or an entire family to spend a day. As a matter of fact, visitors can travel the world in one day! They will visit Africa, Asia, the Amazon, and Australia. Zoo Miami consists of 340 developed acres with more than 3,000 animals and over 1,200 plants and trees planted in such a way as to mimic the animals’ natural habitats. Guests will be able to have animal encounters, meet the keepers during scheduled Meet the Zookeeper talks throughout the day, and much more. They will enjoy jaguars, lions, tigers, orangutans, elephants, the Wings of Asia Aviary (the largest Asian-themed aviary in the western hemisphere with hundreds of free-flying birds), gorillas, chimps, koalas, tree kangaroos, frogs, snakes, meerkats, and more animals than could be listed. At the Amazon and Beyond exhibit, you will experience a rainforest with jaguars, anacondas, bats, venomous snakes (behind glass exhibits, of course), rare frogs, harpy eagles, and a 48,000-gallon aquarium. Be sure to visit our newest exhibit Florida: Mission Everglades! Here you’ll have the opportunity to come face-to-face with some of the incredible animals that call Florida home. You’ll be sure to see alligators, crocodiles, a bald eagle, and river otters! You may even have a chance to ride an “airboat” on the Lostman’s River (for an additional fee)!

Upgrade your visit with a lunch basket with fries. Choose between a burger, chicken tenders, deli wrap, hot dog, BBQ pulled pork, or handcrafted salad. Get a souvenir cup with a fountain drink and a 10% discount on gifts from the shop with this option. And the Playworld Playground is a great place for kids to burn off some of that excess energy. Half jungle, half water park, they can stay dry or wet. Zoo Miami has food and drink concession stands throughout and a beautiful gift shop where you can buy that special memento that will bring back wonderful memories of Zoo Miami!

It was a great experience! Plan for the day to be able to see everything. We arrived at 1pm and 4 hours weren’t enough for us to see everything. Walking is nice (you get a lot of that-lol), but they have bicycles of 2,4,6 people, and also electric animal cars for rent. We’ll doing that next time. The variety of animals they have is amazing. Our favourite the lions, tigers, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, gazelles because they were in an open larger area. However, it broke my heart to see the monkeys and a little wildcat in cages. They look so sad; they should be in the open like there were the other monkeys and tigers…

I enjoyed the zoo, I started with what mattered most to me, the giraffes, then the elephants. Thanks to a somewhat expensive cart, we were able to explore the entire zoo. Unfortunately, it was very hot, some animals were hiding from the sun in the shade, we can't blame them, but the enclosures looked deserted. I recommend but to do early before the sun gets too hot or at the end of the day.

This place is a must when traveling in Paris. This hour drive is very worthwhile. Beautiful museum and great garden. I would plan a full day.
