Las Vegas: Zion and Bryce Canyons Small Group Tour

1. Las Vegas: Zion and Bryce Canyons Small Group Tour

Start at around 5:20 AM with a pickup (strip hotels and surroundings) and guided narration. Learn about Las Vegas’s history as you head towards the Utah border. Stop in Mesquite Nevada or Hurricane UT, depending on the time of year, for a break on the way to Zion National Park. Discovered by Mormon settlers in the 19th century, at the junction of the Colorado Plateau, Great Basin and Mojave Desert provinces in Southwestern Utah, Zion National Park covers 229 square miles of dramatic landscape with sculptured canyons and soaring cliffs. Follow the paths of ancient native people and pioneers. Gaze up at massive sandstone cliffs and brilliant blue sky. Experience wilderness in a narrow slot canyon. After 1.5 hours of exploring Zion, sit down for a lunch, then head to Bryce Canyon for the second part of your tour. See the canyon's stunning hoodoo formations, red cliffs, pink soil, and ponderosa pines, and wonder why the area was not incorporated into the nearby national park. After approximately 1.5 hours of hiking or sightseeing through the scenic, red-tinged moonscape, head back to the vehicle for your comfortable return trip back to your hotel in Las Vegas, stopping for dinner and breaks along the way.

Zion National Park, located near Springdale, Utah, covers 229 square miles (590 kilometers-squared).  The primary feature of the park is Zion Canyon, which is 15 miles (24 kilometers) long and up to half a mile (800 meters) deep cut through the sandstone by the North Fork of the Virgin River. The lowest elevation is 3,666 ft (1,117 meters) at Coalpits Wash and the highest elevation is 8,726 ft (2,660 meters) at Horse Ranch Mountain. Located at the junction of the Colorado Plateau, Great Basin, and Mojave Desert regions, the park's unique geography and variety of life zones allow for unusual plant and animal diversity. What people are saying about Zion Canyon

I really like the experience and Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park is a must see. It’s our guide Ita - he is very informative during the trip , knows about the geography and history. He was also very helpful with taking all our pictures and showing us several stops to take photos at Zion . Then at Bryce , he gave us 1 hr and 20 min to roam around .He also drives safely and very respectful . You can go down and hike at Bryce but we didn’t go below very much since we didn’t bring any hiking shoes and sticks. And there’s no more railing below and we’re only beginners. Overall a must see site .

If you don’t mind spending a day away from Las Vegas then this is the tour for you. The only cons I can think of is that there are only a few stops to use the restroom and the fact that the tour starts early in the morning. However, Bryce and Zion Canyon is a must see and its well worth seeing at least once. Water and lunch is provided by the tour company and if you ain’t a morning person like me, you can take a power nap on the drive there. Overall this was a great tour and I would like to go again on my next trip to Vegas.
