Museum Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder 15评论

In the middle of Amsterdam’s bustling centre stands one of the city’s oldest museums, known as Museum Ons’ Lieve Heer op Solder (Museum Our Lord in the Attic). Here visitors get to experience the Dutch Golden Age in a special way: a 17th-century canal house with a top floor converted into a chapel. Jan Hartman bought this house on the Oudezijds Voorburgwal and the two adjacent buildings on the Heintje Hoekssteeg 350 years ago. He had the attics of the three houses converted into a Roman Catholic church conforming to the conventions of the day - and yet nothing on the outside would suggest that there was a house of worship inside.
