Escape off the beaten track and join us on an excursion that combines adventure by train, exploration of medieval villages, breathtaking medieval and Baroque architecture and incredible natural landscapes in the middle of the Alps. Meet your guide at 8:30 a.m. in front of Nice-Ville's main train station (Boulangerie Paul terrace). Discover breathtaking scenery as you cross natural canyons, high bridges and tunnels on a 2.5-hour train ride to your destination. Along the way, your guide will reveal the secrets of one of France's most beautiful railroad lines, a testament to French civil engineering in the early 20th century. Afterwards, you'll visit the Mercantour National Park House to observe protected species of endemic flora and fauna. After lunch (you can choose between a picnic or lunch in a local restaurant), you'll visit other must-see sites in Tende, such as a baroque cathedral, a labyrinth of medieval streets, panoramic views from the top of the village, the cemetery and the ruins of an ancient castle. Let's continue our journey to Saorge, an impressive village, a pearl of medieval architecture with steep streets, built on a concave hill. Classified as one of France's most beautiful villages. Admire the charming and peaceful Franciscan convent of Saorge (option 5€/p), founded in the 17th century, before visiting the church of Saint-Sauveur, another jewel of Baroque art. The village offers spectacular views of the Alps and surrounding canyons. An enchanting day full of surprises! Return by train, arriving in Nice at 7.45pm. The guide reserves the right to modify the itinerary depending on the interests of the guests, the weather conditions or availabilities of the restaurants/snacks, museums/monuments (Itinerary could include La Brigue, Breil/Roya or Sospel (instead Tende and Saorge)) Example of option to change the itinerary during the hottest summer days: - Take a refreshing dip in a natural swimming pool (river) (La Brigue or Breil-sur-Roya option)

This tour was excellent! Our group’s guide was very knowledgeable of the area and the history. The sites were amazing and the food was superb! I was able to bike up the biggest hills with ease on the e-bike. Originally I was worried about 5 hours on a bike and going up the hills as I’m not in the best shape. The tour went by fast with plenty of breaks and I was able to navigate the hills with ease on the e-bikes. Highly recommend! There are some areas that are down hill that are a little fast. It was a thrilling experience and easy to navigate; however if you have a fear of going fast on a bike be aware the end of the tour has a lot of down hill action (up to 30-35km/h) just a make sure your bike has good brakes.

Snorkeling without a snorkel is rather difficult. Snorkeling is not that attractive, there isn't much to see, a lot of rocks and few fish. Information about whether you can store your belongings would be helpful or whether a waterproof bag would be useful if you want to take something with you. E.g. a dry T-shirt, because towards the evening it gets chilly on the board when you're wet. The picnic with local specialties was delicious and our guide was also attentive and explained a lot.

Great discovery of the Hautes Niçois Instructive comments from our guide Also a tasty ride which allowed us to taste the specialties of Nice (pissaladière - chard tart - pan bagnat - socca - ice cream) High quality electric bike In short, an exciting 5 hours

This was super gorgeous and our guide was great. However, from a safety perspective this was absolutely insane. The roads are simply not suitable for Americans with little to no road biking experience.

One of the best ways to see Nice. The small picnic lunch is exceptional experience on a secluded beautiful beach.
