With a sunny observation deck that remains accessible throughout the year, the Gornergrat at 3,089 metres above sea level provides spectacular views. The Gornergrat is surrounded by 29 four-thousand metre peaks including the highest Swiss mountain, the Dufourspitze, which has an altitude of 4,634 metres, and the third-largest glacier in the Alps, the Gorner glacier. The mountainscape panorama you'll experience is completely unique.

We booked in advanced and exchanged our voucher for a ticket at the train station which gave us priority tickets. We were able to board the front of the train and the advice of sitting on the right side of the train was perfect! The views of The Matterhorn were incredible!! I would highly recommend booking through this site!

We had a spectacular view of the Matterhorn on the ride up and down. Be sure to sit on the right side of the train. The viewing station at the top is excellent with views 360degrees around. Picking up tickets at the Gornergrat station in Zermatt was a breeze with the QR code on the phone.

My parents and I took the first train at 7am and saw the sunrise over the Matterhorn, so beautiful! Unbelievable views. Just a note to other travelers: if you do take the 7am train, know that you will not be able to enter the Zoom experience until 10:30, the cafe does not open until 9am, and if you want to shop at the top, it also does not open until 9am! So if you go for sunrise, prepare to be at the top until the next train, with limited access to other things.
