OUR GUIDE SAVED US FROM OUR WORST NIGHTMARE!! Because we traveled during the epidemic, we had a miscommunication with our resort and we found out that the resort was actually closed when we were nearly arriving there. Imagine our panic... being foreigners we didn't know anybody who could help us, plus 90% of the resort's were still closed at that time. Our driver/guide was tirelessly calling to everyone in order to find us accommodation, he even managed to find the contact of the resort manager and he didn't leave us until make sure that we were comfortably installed. Thanks to him and his effort we were finally able to start a nice and pleasant trip after a stressful begging. Also, he is extremely intelligent and funny. During our ride he kept passing is knowledges about the Tanzanian history which I really appreciate! I recommend 200%!
We started the day with the spice farm tour. Our guide through farm was great. Not only was he very knowledgeable about spices on the property, he also spoke of their medicinal purposes and how to use the spices in cooking etc. From there we went back to Stonetown for the walking tour. The tour took in the main sights and attractions. Our guide Juma was great. Relaxed, informative and engaging.
We really enjoyed our trip with ... He was really nice, open and informative. Shared much info about the history and the traditions in Zanzibar. Was quite flexible regarding the schedule. We had a lunch in a local authentic restaurant suggested by the guide.
This tour was amazing!! Wish all the tour guides was like Haji. He really got a passion for tourism and his History knowledge will blow your mind. Learn so much about Zanzibar! Thank you for this awesome experience.
Tour round stone town was very informative , very hot and humid. Town in dilapidated condition but worth a short wander through. Slave museum very informative but shocking
