Really quirky idea and I debated whether to go with my family. In the end, all of us enjoyed it including my teenager. The exhibits are either emotional, poignant or funny and the descriptions too. This is not only about romantic relationships but also with parents, grandparents etc. Would definitely recommend visiting this really unique museum. It's tiny though, so you finish in 30-mins or so. It is in the city centre, so you can always go to other places very quickly.

The Museum of Broken Relationships offers a unique public space that connects people in their joint experience of feeling love and heartache.

Feel welcomed by friendly staff who are there to answer every question you may have. Begin exploring the displays which counts around 100 stories donated by people from all over the world as a way to bring closure to a broken relationship. 

You are invited on an empathetic journey to the depths of the human heart to explore our ultimate need for love and connection despite the difficulties that go with it. It is a desire to connect you in meaningful ways across growing divides of class, community, and culture that seem to define the world.

  • Last entrance to the exhibition is at 7:30 PM during Summer/Fall (June 1st - Sept. 30th) and at 8:30 PM during Winter/Spring (Oct. 1st - May 31st).
  • Museum exhibit captions are in Croatian and English. All other languages mentioned are available via QR codes or as booklets.
