Only 3 on the tour so we went by car. The little turn we went to was very pretty, went into 4 churches the fruit market and had lunch. Quick stop to the graveyard to see how beautiful and different it is to do many others. 2nd stop we went to the castle .. one last wanted to go up by horse carriage which was fun.. beautiful castle inside with amazing views… our guide was very lovely and informative… a lovely day out without being at a fast pace.. very nice.

Full description

Start your day with a pickup from Park Zrinjevac. Hop-in an AC vehicle for a drive towards the baroque town of Varazdin. Your guide will share interesting stories on the way. Discover the baroque gem Varazdin with a local licensed guide. Visit one of the most beautiful graveyards of Europe. Go on a walking tour from the Old Town fortress to the city hall, cathedral and parish Church of St. Nicholas. After the tour, your will be given free time for your own activities. Drive to Trakoscan Castle. The fairy tale castle dates back to the late 13th century but was reconstructed in the 19th century in the Romantic spirit by the noble Draskovic family. In the castle, you will see a valuable collection of paintings, furniture and weapons. Return to Zagreb in the late afternoon hours.

Our tour guide Myer, she is exceptional. Considerate courteous and knowledgeable. We learn so much along the way. We had a great time. We enjoyed Varazdin town and had nice tea and cake at one of the shop. Had fun hunting for angels. Trakoscan Castle by far is the best castle we visited in Balkan area. Not overcrowded and all the furniture is authentic. The magnificent view from castle overlooking the lake and nearby village is breathtaking. Don't think twice. This is the castle is a must visit place. It is beyond what you see in the photo. We were travelled in a close to bran dnew Nissan SUV. Can't complain. Everything is perfect. Myer also know that my knee is weak and she pace herself nicely in every steps not to make me feel awkward. She is professional understanding and caring. We really love the entire tour. Tq so much.
