Full description

Discover the beautiful Plitvice Lakes, a Unesco World Heritage Site, and the village of Rastoke on a day tour from Zagreb. Treat your eyes to the beauty of the small waterfalls, traditional houses, 16 terraced lakes, and more on a guided tour.

Depart Zagreb and start your journey to the village of Rastoke. Enjoy a coffee break at the gateway to the amazing Plitvice Lakes area. Get a glimpse at some of the small waterfalls, well-preserved mills, and traditional houses that line the banks of the Slunjčica River.

Arrive at Plitvice Lakes National Park and follow your knowledgeable guide to discover the 16 terraced lakes formed by natural travertine dams. Learn how the lakes can change color throughout the day, depending on the angle of the sun’s rays and the mineral makeup of the water.

Walk through the park on the guided sightseeing tour before your guide takes you to a local restaurant for an optional lunch. Taste the typical dishes of the region, and feel free to ask your guide for recommendations for food, drinks, or even souvenirs. After lunch, sit back in comfort on the pleasant drive back to Zagreb.

Great experience, well organised and Marko was a great (& very patient) guide. We originally planned to spend 2 nights in Plitvicka, but this day trip worked out to be a much more efficient way of visiting, and we covered both upper and lower lakes at a leisurely pace. Highly recommend it.

Our guide, Andrei was very professional! He was talking to us during the time in the bus and we learned a lot about Croatia. We first stopped to an amazing village and took some photos. He took us to the lakes and we walked in almost all the lakes and waterfalls. We could stop and take pictures and we also took the boat from one lake to another. At the end we had lunch in a local restaurant (with very low prices). Trip was wonderful and I definitely recommend it!

One of the best experiences ever. Croatia is such a beautiful and well kept country. Its breathtaking natural beauty is worth exploring. The tour guide was immense. Our local tour guide Marko didn't overload us with information and was also incredibly knowledgeable of the ecological history as well as the cultural aspects. He was ever so kind and considerate. The stop off at the local restaurant was incredible. The grilled local trout and the local beer was to die for. The drive there and back was smooth. I would hesitate in recommending this to others as it was refreshing to get out if the city and see the Croatian countryside.
