Full description
In this tour you will visit the central spots in Zagreb, expand your knowledge about the city's history and traditions, try different local dishes, and make unforgettable memories with other happy guests. The tour starts on the main city square where you will meet your guide, before heading to the central green market. At the market, you will taste fresh, local ingredients and dishes such as simple a homemade peasant dish, "sir i vrhnje" (cottage cheese), a crusty puffed pastry with fillings ("burek"), and some of the local fish and meat dishes ("srdele i ćevapi"). While in Zagreb, you have to try the unusual authentic dessert, which is best when it's served warm ("štrukli"). As well as this, you will also see how chocolate tastes in Zagreb, since the locals have their own chocolate factory. To provide a good image of what is traditional in Croatia, this tour also includes some of the delicious foods from other Croatian regions such as Dalmatian "pršut" and Istrian olives. To remember the complicated names of the local dishes, you will receive the materials that should make it easy for you to go back to the locations you liked, and try out the additional food recommended by your guide.

Our tour was with Kristina, there were only two of us with our guide and it was really great. The food and the variety was really great and unique. We would book the tour again and again. Also to discover some places that are not immediately obvious. We recommend that you do not eat breakfast or the like beforehand! It's a lot, tasty, diverse.

We loved this tour, but be warned that the portions are large so you should pace yourself so you have room to enjoy the treats at the end. I am a vegetarian and they made sure I had options at all but one of the stops so I felt very happy. Our guide was truly lovely and we felt that we learned a lot about Croatian culture and history through her explanations of the food we ate. It was a great experience.

A must-do in Zagreb

Kristina was an amazing tour guide. Not only did we eat a lot of delicious food from around the region, she explained the history of Zagreb. Walking the markets with her provided a wonderful view of the local culture and an interesting look at where the food is sourced for many of the restaurants. It was easily the best thing we did in Zagreb! My advice, skip breakfast. You will not leave hungry! Thanks again for a memorable day Kristina.
