Pula and Motovun Tour and Truffle Hunting

2. Pula and Motovun Tour and Truffle Hunting

Istria has become known for its incredible truffles - especially the white truffle that can rival those of Italian regions of Alba and Piedmont. Truffles were loved by the Romans - they were believed to have grown as the result of God Jupiter throwing a lightning to an oak tree. On this trip, you will visit two cities. The first is Pula - the largest city in Istria. The most famous sight in Pula – of course – is the Roman amphitheatre, which is called The Arena. Built during the 1st century AD and completed under the reign of Emperor Flavius, the amphitheatre is the sixth largest in the world (of those that still exist). Motovun is an ancient Istrian acropolis city situated on the top of a 277 meter-high hill whose current appearance originates from the Middle Ages, the 12th and 13th century. The longest Istrian stairway with 1052 stairs leads to the top of the Motovun hill and its Venetian city square.

What people are saying about Zagreb

Our tour was with Kristina, there were only two of us with our guide and it was really great. The food and the variety was really great and unique. We would book the tour again and again. Also to discover some places that are not immediately obvious. We recommend that you do not eat breakfast or the like beforehand! It's a lot, tasty, diverse.

Kristina is a superstar and tour was fabulous. Not much walking, lots of great conversation about all things Croatian and superb quality of food and wonderful variety. This was the best tour I have ever taken and I know that you'll think its top quality. Terry, USA

Christina was an excellent guide. Tried all types of food from all over Croatia. Brought to really nice local places that I wouldn’t otherwise know about. You get a lot of food so make sure you don’t eat too much beforehand

We tasted traditional foods, explored the local markets, saw sites that we would have missed, and learned some history. Kristina was an awesome guide, made us feel at home and gave us suggestions for dinner that night.

Three hours well spent. Robert was very passionate about his city and really friendly. Highly recommended
