Full description

Visit  Plitvice National Park on a full-day tour departing from Zadar. Granted UNESCO World Heritage status in 1979, Plitvice is marked on old maps as the “Devil’s Garden" and consists of 16 interconnected terraced lakes gushing over moss-covered rocks. Depart from Zadar early and drive for about 1 hour and 45 minutes before reaching Plitvice National Park, home to diverse flora and fauna, including wild boar, wolves, and even bears. Once at the national park, begin your 4-hour guided tour, visiting Upper and Lower lakes and enjoying the unspoiled nature of one of the most beautiful national parks in the world.

Although you can’t swim in the protected lakes, your guide will show you the best places to explore and relax in this paradise of natural wonders. Your tour also includes an electric boat ride on Kozjak Lake. Return to Zadar at around 18:00.

I paid a bit extra as the trip description said it was limited to 40 % capacity. Instead the full sized bus was full. Also the breakfast box was a Salami and cheese sandwich. Who eats salami for breakfast? The industrially packaged croissant was inedible. They also distribute this when the bus arrives 2 hours after meeting and you don't get a chance to eat it for another 30 to 40 minutes. Not at all what a breakfast should be or expected. The guide was very good but I feel cheated by winding up in a large group after paying for a smaller one and for the awful late breakfast.

I really enjoyed the tour - I was initially a bit worried that it would be a hard walk but its generally very flat and did not require much fitness. Some of the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen and I loved the quick boat ride. I think the experience was really good value for money in terms of the bus, food, and guide. Overall, it was worth every penny and I would do it again.

This is a fabulous day trip. Ante, the tour guide, is extremely friendly and well spoken. He gave great information about the park and really enhanced the experience at the park making sure that we didn’t miss any main areas of the park. The trip was well organized, the sack lunch was as described, and I would definitely recommend this activity to someone who would like to take the guess work out of going to Plitvice.
