What to Expect
The town of Pag has a rich offer of the ancient monuments, culinary delights and an entirely different nature with magically beautiful stone scenery. At first glance, the Island of Pag is a rough, stone made, edged with sky-blue sea and placed under the wing of the Velebit Mountain. It is often called "Island of Rock " or "Lunar Island" because its surface has a somewhat intimidating appearance with a stone white from gale, rugged in so many forms that only nature can create, that occupies even 86 percent of the island's surface. The island of Pag is known as one of the sunniest islands in the Adriatic, with over 2,500 hours of sunshine per year, its coast is woven of even 270 km of pebbly beaches with crystal clear sea. Among more than a thousand islands in the Adriatic, Pag is quite different from the others, the armor of stone hides away the richness that hardworking hands of islanders were creating for centuries, always struggling much more than others. So it is worth a visit to discover its many faces and enjoy them.

Sirana Gligora, a family dairy on the beautiful island of Pag in Croatia where a unique terroir and age-old traditional cheese making practices combine with the latest dairy technology to produce an exquisite and remarkable cheese, Paški Sir.  The Gligora family have been making traditional Croatian cheese, and in particular Paški Sir in Kolan since 1918. Sirana Gligora Paški Sir is a wonderfully tasteful sheep milk cheese that brings full and complex flavor to the palate and melts nicely in the mouth. Authentic and unique, Paški Sir is a pure delight and displays quality in the making, leaving a long and pleasant aftertaste to savor. A yellowish creamy colour with farmhouse aromas, Paški Sir has a well-balanced texture, taste, aromas and finish and is delightfully tasty. Another spectacular new cheese from Sirana Gligora, Paški sir iz maslinove komine, finished top of class with a gold medal in the ‘hard sheep milk cheese’ category at the World Cheese Championships in the USA (20.03.2014). 2013 has been a good year for Sirana Gligora, having collected their 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th major awards of the year at the World Cheese Awards.  As well as the Super Gold and Best Central and Eastern European Trophy for Dinarski sir, Sirana Gligora’s Sir s Tartufima won silver in the class of ‘cheeses with savory additives,’ and in the ‘open class cow milk category’ which is perhaps one of the toughest groups, Gligora’s best-selling cow milk cheese Kolan was bestowed with a Bronze medal.

12 km from Zadar is place for tasting wine and a Konoba restaurant. A nun Čika had bought the first vineyards in Petrčane (Petrzane) in 1072. Since then, the monastery had vineyards on its land but it was confiscated from them after World War II and then partially returned after the Homeland War. Four years ago, the company Royal Vineyards planted new vineyards on the land where premium wines Pošip, Crljenak and Plavac mali come from. The wines Punta Skala have already won the flattering titles of the champions, here you can enjoy a smooth wine with intensive aromas of fruit with a hint of stone on which the reeds in grapes collect blessings of the Zadar pleasant Mediterranean climate.
