Zrmanja and Krupa are among the most beautiful rivers in Europe: perfectly clear warm water, a spectacular canyon with magnificent waterfalls. They are easy and safe enough for beginner canoeists but their scenery makes them also very exciting. You will see many fish and birds and explore typical karst phenomenon – living travertine waterfalls. The trip begins in Kastel Zegarski, only one hour drive from Zadar. You will quickly learn how to handle sit-on-top kayaks as you slowly enter the canyon. After the first hour of paddling down easy rapids you will – if time and weather permit – visit beautiful Krupa waterfalls and swim under them. More waterfalls and rapids wait for you as you continue down Zrmanja towards Muskovci where the trip ends. At the end of the trip optionally you can enjoy refreshments at a nearby restaurant or take a picnic on your own. On this full-day kayaking excursion you’ll experience the natural beauty of Dugi Otok, a rugged island located to the west of Zadar. When you arrive, a van will transfer you to the bay, where the kayaking adventure begins. During the tour you’ll encounter secret bays, numerous sea caves and soaring cliffs. Later, when you return to the starting point you’ll be transferred to the north of island, where you’ll have lunch. Afterwards, you’ll paddle your kayak to a sunken ship, which offers a spectacular snorkeling experience. The final part of the tour is spent at the white sandy beach of Sakarun, where you can relax, swim and play the local game of picigin – a real treat for all.

Meet your guide at Mićanovi dvori. The 5-hour activity begins with instruction on how to use your equipment before heading out on a 14.5-kilometer kayaking experience. Depending on pace and physical fitness, the trip can last from 2.5-4 hours. The goal is for everyone to enjoy time in the water to the best of their ability! In the summer, when the water level is low, you’ll head down the river by kayak. The rest of the year, when the water is high, you’ll make your way down the river by raft. Kayaks can seat 2 people and a raft can seat from 6-10 people, including the skipper. You’ll be in a group of 30 people (15 kayaks), with 2 skippers to guide you.

The begging of the trip (clothes changing, instructions, boarding and start of the paddling down the river) is at village Kaštel Žegarski . The part of the route from the village to the mouth of Krupa in Zrmanja and Visoki buk (10 meters high waterfall, the highest on Zrmanja) is hour and a half long, and the waterfall will be bypassed by 5 minutes long walk. Going down the river lasts for approximately 4 hours of which one hour is spent on occasional breaks and swimming. Paddling isn’t hard or dangerous, during the summer; the water is clear and refreshing – perfect adventure for beginners. The trip ends in a village called Muškovci, with some free time for swimming before departure. If you have arrived with your own car, we will drive you to the start point, where you had left your car.

Perfect Organisation , great tour Security remark : the walk from the 12 m water Falls down to the boats is challenging , and I would say even dangerous when to having the right footwear. As tour recommendations goes up to 73 y the guides should give proper precaution announcements
