We had an amazing trip to Copacabana and Isla del Sol. The guide (Peter) was great and explained everything really well. It all went very smoothly with clear maps and good instructions. Things to note: It is a very long day but that’s necessary to get there so not really a problem. However, the bus ride is VERY bumpy so it’s unlikely you’ll be able to get any sleep whilst travelling there and back. You will need some cash to enter Isla del Sol and for snacks if you want to get any when you stop. Toilets also often cost money so small change helps. The hike up to Isla del Sol is tough, the actual walk is fine, a few steep steps and then a gradual incline, but the altitude (4000m +) does make it very tough! I am of medium fitness with very mild asthma, however it was really triggered by the altitude so I would definitely be aware of that if you need to be. For us it was quite chilly in the morning and very hot in the afternoon so layers are a good idea.

I had a fun day out but it is a long day to not see so much so bear this in mind when booking. I decided to book a hotel in Copacabana and come back the next day as it felt rushed and the day trip did not allow you to explore much. You will have around 1hr in Copacabana for lunch then you will take a boat to Isla del Sol. Do the short hike then return back by boat to Copacabana then back on the bus to La Paz. Staying over gave more opportunity to explore the area further

Special mention for the guides, Abner and Andres, they've been super helpful and competent with perfect explanation both in English and Spanish. The tour is very well organised. I suggest to take part to the 2days experience. Doing it in one day you have no chance to live property la Isla del Sol, because you'll stay there only 1h, with no possibility to get around. To improve: on the trip back was raining inside the bus... maybe this can be fixed

Felipe is a friendly, very helpful guide with his heart in the right place. In short, a professional. The day after he sent me tips on subjects we talked about!

The Guide and driver were exceptional- it was a long day but very well paced.
