Important information

Know before you go

  • Please note that the River Ouse in York can occasionally rise to levels that can have an impact on this cruise's daily operations after periods of heavy rainfall in the catchment area upstream
  • The local partner will always attempt to sail, so long as it is safe to do so. There can come a point where the smallest boat can no longer fit underneath the bridges
  • Depending on the height of the waters, it may not be possible to sail at all. In this instance, you will either be eligible for a full refund or your ticket(s) will happily be accepted on another date

The only thing that spoilt it was the rain, but you could sit below decks in the lounge and enjoy reflections. Also a bar for drinks and light snacks. Not many on the sailing, due to the weather and social distancing on the boat was ample. Commentary from the captain was highly entertaining, too!

Socially distanced queues in place. Socially distanced seating in place. It had been a splendid day weatherwise but was clouding over. We still opted to sit in the open on the top deck. Super views from the Ouse, and entertaining commentary. Also entertained by some of the antics on the riverbank. All in all, an excellent experience and well worth the time spent.

We are an elderly couple who took the early evening Ouse Cruise. We had a warm and smiling welcome to our trip and the captain gave a very good and informative commentary pointing out places of interest and filling us in with snippets of history. We would definitely recommend this as a well spent hour for anyone.
