Important information

Know before you go

  • Please note that the River Ouse in York can occasionally rise to levels that can have an impact on this cruise's daily operations after periods of heavy rainfall in the catchment area upstream
  • The local partner will always attempt to sail, so long as it is safe to do so. There can come a point where the smallest boat can no longer fit underneath the bridges
  • Depending on the height of the waters, it may not be possible to sail at all. In this instance, you will either be eligible for a full refund or your ticket(s) will happily be accepted on another date

Absolutely loved our cruise down the river, really easy too book, really easy to find....Google maps is just great isn't it! The cruise was for an hour and it really did go to quick, the skipper was called louie he gave a great commentary, some really brilliant (awful) dad jokes but we'll informed and genuine or at least it didn't seem rehearsed at all, I have learnt what the word wharf means which I'm truly buzzing about, would recommend the river cruise to anyone, great value for money too!

Wonderful experience, went with my partner and child during a week in York walking past the boats on the Ouse every day and decided on a whim to book ourselves onto the evening cruise. We sat upstairs, which was chilly but had the best view and I would recommend if you're dressed for the weather, although Raffy did try to describe things for those downstairs when they might not have been able to see. Commentary was amusing and educational, with a good mix of historical fact and humour. Especially liked that we heard some new things (after a week in York cramming as many attractions and tours in as possible, you get a bit used to the *surprise* Terry's Chocolate Apple). Would recommend this cruise to anyone looking for a more restful way to explore the beautiful city than charging around the walls.

Easy to find location, we had a member of the party in a wheelchair, and absolutely no issues in boarding. Staff were accommodating. Different way of viewing the city. Only downside we had was the man commentating had a habit of saying the first part of his sentence so quickly we couldn't actually understand what he was saying. Boat was clean.
