I booked a nice dry evening. They called and cancelled that day and gave me a slot the next day. Gutted it was raining though. The bus waited for me as I was running late, the tour guide was very cute and funny, he told us lots of information about the city and all the dead people, I found that interesting. Couldn't see much as it was raining and the windows were steamed up. Stopped half way round at the shambles for a short walk and more info was given, this wasn't mentioned in the description so take your brolly !! One guy got off the bus and threw up near the end ( travel sick ) Bob the driver wasn't "that bad" Glad I went on it, really enjoyed it.

A real unique experience, would definitely recommend to any morbid history fans. The tour is packed with information and stories but in a really fun way, the conductor (we had Robin Graves!) was great and engaged everyone. I have been on the tour with friends before and had enjoyed it so much that I had to go again with my mum when taking her to York for the weekend.

This was a fun way to spend an hour and a bit one evening. Often, as a tourist, there is less to do in the evenings aside from the normal dining out / drinking activity, and this made a refreshing change. I think you can also do this by yourself without feeling too odd. The guide had great energy and kept us engaged throughout the whole experience and we learned a lot too, even if we couldn't always clearly see all the sights (to be expected when driving in the ghostly dark of a November evening).
