Full description
Meet your guide at the local partner's office and head southeast to visit the fortress of Erebuni located on Arin Berd Hill. Built in 782 B.C. by the Urartian King Argishti I, it is said that the name Yerevan derived from Erebuni. See the ruins of the citadel and the frescoes on the wall that reveal the high artistic achievements of those remote centuries. Explore the museum downhill, where you can see the excavations from the territory of the fortress.

Then, make your way to the Megerian Carpet Museum and Factory. Learn about the Megerian Family who has been selling and producing fine oriental rugs for over four generations. Originally from Armenia, the Megerians established their rug trade business in the United States in 1917 and quickly developed an expertise in rug repairing and restoration. Over time, they began to realize the growing demand for different trends and subtle design changes and took their well-honed skills to the loom to create their own decorative rugs.

Next, embark on a brief city center tour of Yerevan. Get a glimpse of the city's rich history and culture by covering all the key landmarks, including the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, Swan Lake, Republic Square, National Assembly Building, Lovers' Park, Victory Bridge, and Northern Avenue. Head over to the Cascade Complex, the towering monument of art and design, or as locals call it the "Stairway to Heaven." Climb up the stairs and admire the extraordinary beauty of the city on the background of the majestic Mount Ararat.

Finally, head to the Yerevan Brandy Company for a tasting of Armenian brandy. Get acquainted with the history and culture of the local spirit. Learn about the process making and craftsmanship, and taste different kinds of Ararat Brandy, the most famous Armenian brandy.

You will then return to the meeting point.
