The day tour to Khor Virap, Noravank, and winery was amazing and well-organized. I think our tour guide made the tour experience extra special because of her knowledge about Armenian history. My favorite part was the wine tasting experience. As a wine lover, we got the chance to taste 8 types of wines. The van was also very comfortable. The seats were good and it also came with air conditioning and wifi which I loved. Lastly, I was also pleased that the tour group wasn’t crowded and just enough number of people to get to know each other.

It was a very nice trip with the great benefit of Ani as our guide - she has a huge knowledge and you can hear her enthusiasm in her voice. We've visited two monastieries - having then enough time for seeing them on our own (a few minutes more would be always nice to have though :) ), spent a short time in a cave and then ended the tour with a nice wine tasting. The only pity is that I hoped for a stop at some view point to have a picture of famous view of Khor Virap with Ararat, but we drove directly to the monastery. But otherwise all good and really recommending the tour :)

Full description

Khor Virap Monastery is located about an hour’s drive away from the capital Yerevan, and offers an amazing view of Armenia’s defining symbol – the majestic Ararat. Khor Virap translates as deep dungeon, and it was built on the place of the former royal prison, located on the historical site of Artashat. The Monastery is also one of the most sacred spots for Armenians around the world.

This tour will also take you to the Areni Cave (Bird’s Cave). In 2008, archeologists discovered several of the world’s oldest artifacts, including a leather shoe and a winery here.

Another place that can’t be missed is Noravank. It is one of the gems of medieval Armenian architecture, nestled high among the stunning brick-red cliffs at the end of the Gnishik Canyon.

Conclude your day with a visit to the charming village of Areni, famous for its winemaking tradition. Here, you’ll visit a local winery to taste a selection of fine Armenian wines, including the renowned Areni variety.

Great experience provided by yerani travel!!! Tour well organized, our guide provided lots of stories and details. Also this trio has some amazing views. The place we stopped to eat was neat a lake with really good food. The wine we tasted was good as well. Two tours with them, both really good. Really recommend it, one of the best tours in our travels.
