Full description
You will be picked up from your hotel where the tour will start at 10:00 am and last approximately 4 to 5-hours. The first stop is Garni, a Pagan Temple referred to as the well-known symbol of pre-Christian Armenia that was converted into a royal summer house. After exploring the grand structure, you will then stop at Ararat ARC where you'll have a fantastic view to mount Ararat, a snow capped dormant volcano situated in Turkey. From here, you will visit the UNESCO listed Geghard Monastery Complex. Some of the churches are situated in caves, whilst others are dug out of the surrounding rock surface. You will then be transferred back to Yerevan.

Wonderful excursion into the landscape, culture and history of Armenia

Our guide Nvard was extremely friendly and charming. Although she speaks English much better than we do, she had a feeling for bringing the history of Armenia so close that we felt well informed. Nvard supplemented historical and geographical facts with legends and stories that enabled us to gain a deeper insight into the culture and way of thinking of the Armenians. We don't want to miss Tigran, our driver, who politely and kindly contributed to the success of the tour. The trip to Garni and Geghard was definitely an enrichment for our stay in Armenia.

A nice trip

It was a nice trip with a very good guide. It is rare to get a guide who is very well read but still not too assertive. One who wants to flood with facts so that one drowns. Our guide had the ability to constantly give us information that provided an opportunity for reflection. Just being allowed to sit quietly and think about what you have heard, means that you actually take in what has been said. The absolute highlight is when she sings in song, inside the church in Geghard. It gave chills. Impressively beautiful!
