Full description
Get picked up from your hotel in Yangon and relax in air-conditioned comfort as you travel to the meeting point at the local supplier's office. Pass the Taukkyan War Cemetery for Allied soldiers of the British Commonwealth who died in battle in Burma during World War II (note that this is just a quick stop — the cemetery cannot be visited). Travel to Phayar Gyi Junction to stop for breakfast on your way to Golden Rock. Arrive at the Kin Pun base camp and travel by public truck on a bumpy ride up to the mountain top. Alternatively, take the cable car from the half-way point to experience the breathtaking location from a different perspective (if you choose to take the cable car, please note that both the truck and cable car fees must be paid). Upon arrival at the truck station, you will pass by lots of vendors on your walk up to the Golden Rock pagoda. Take this chance to snap some colorful photos. On the top of the hill, you have plenty of time to not only admire the magnificent view of the mountain landscape, but also the legendary Golden Rock. Marvel at the gravity-defying pagoda that sits on a granite boulder covered with gold leaves pasted on by male devotees. Have a lunch at a restaurant on top of the mountain, before heading back to Yangon in the afternoon. You will stop once more at Phayar Gyi Junction for refreshments before being driven back to your hotel in Yangon.

I think this is the only reasonably priced and comfortable way to visit Golden Rock in one day. The pick-up was perfectly on time. The guide provided comprehensive explanations. We arrived pretty late back to Yangon. However, this was the case as the guide offered us to see an additional monument, not foreseen in the programme.

The cheapest way to visit Golden Rock on a one-day trip!

The guide was so pretty and kind. I was happy to have the opportunity to see Golden Rock, even if I had not a lot of time. The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast, we stops in a Burmese shop with very dirty bathrooms and we had only a tea or coffee. Maybe you should try to find a better place where to eat something fast. By the way, I really appreciate the trip!

Our driver was driving safety for us. He just some guided and didn’t say any more but it was comfortable. We had a great experience on this tour.
