Our guide and driver arrived in plenty of time for our 8.00am departure. Tun (our guide) was the perfect host throughout the whole day and our driver (sorry .. can’t remember name) treated us like royalty and managed to drop us off in areas that would normally be reserved for such!! My wife travelled in shorts so after our first stop at the cemetery, Tun arranged for us to visit some local shops in Bago so she could by a longyi before visiting the first pagoda ... I even bought one myself a bit later from a local manufacturer we went to visit. Lunchtime (extra cost) was great as Tun joined us and it was good to share information about all of our families and lifestyles. The reclining Buddha and Buddha of four pillars were also great - we have many more photos than normal thanks to Tun being a willing photographer. All in all , excellent!
The day trip from Yangon to Bago was well planned. Thanks to our guide Linn and driver Kyaw we had a really super day. They made such a great team! Linn was charming and easy going. His good command of English made conversations with him such a pleasure. Kyaw was really attentive such as offering us wet wipes after we had been inside pagodas bare-footed. They’re patient with me while I took countless photos! Spending the day in their company was like being shown around all the wonderful places by friends. A big thank-you to both. 10/10!!
I had a great trip out to Bago in early December 2019. My driver and guide were both very good people to talk to. My guide specifically had great knowledge of Myanmar history and specifically the history of Bago. We went to the WWII war memorial between Yangon and Bago, an old Palace, 2x Pagodas, 2x Lying Buddhas and the Pagoda Bazaar. I also received a great lunch recommendation in Bago.
The guide was so pretty and kind. I was happy to have the opportunity to see Golden Rock, even if I had not a lot of time. The only thing that could be improved is the breakfast, we stops in a Burmese shop with very dirty bathrooms and we had only a tea or coffee. Maybe you should try to find a better place where to eat something fast. By the way, I really appreciate the trip!
I think this is the only reasonably priced and comfortable way to visit Golden Rock in one day. The pick-up was perfectly on time. The guide provided comprehensive explanations. We arrived pretty late back to Yangon. However, this was the case as the guide offered us to see an additional monument, not foreseen in the programme.
