Nuwan was an excellent driver and guide. He was very knowledgeable about where to find the wildlife including the leopard. He also stuck to the lesser tracks rather than the main straight roads that run through the park that are far less scenic. Much better than the tour we had the previous day that we’d organised through our high-end hotel (which was also more expensive). Recommend morning over afternoon tour although you do see different wildlife and activity depending on time of day.

Yala safari is a very nice activity, and you get the chance to see a lot of animals - elephants, buffalo, crocodiles, various birds, iguana, wild boars, etc. Some tourists also get to see leopards, but in general its very difficult to see them. I think you need only max 3 hours for the whole safari to see most of the animals. We took the full day tour and left in the afternoon as it was already too tiring (road has lots of bumps and we didn't wanted to get shaken and bruised for a full day). The car was really great and we are not that sensible, but however the heat of the day + waking up at early hours + lots of bumps in the road makes you quite tired over one day.

Sasangan was an excellent driver and guide through our safari in Yala National Park. He perfectly navigated some flooded and bumpy roads allowing us the smoothest ride possible. He was also excellent at spotting the animals, pointing them out to us, and telling us about them a bit. He even spotted a leopard for us and we were the first jeep that day to spot it! It was very exciting!
