1-Day Tour of Both Yala and Udawalawe National Parks

He ripped us off with the park entrance fees. When you book the tour it shows the tour price + “fees for national park entrance”. The day before the tour started (after the free cancelation period had passed), we got a message telling us the entrance fees are 13.000Lkr for Yala and 11.000Lkr for Udawalawe. Because these seemed quite high we did some research online and found out it’s actually around 8000Lkr for each of the park. I replied asking why the fees are so much higher but didn’t get a reply. When we asked the next day when he picked us up he pretended to not understand and kept repeating the price. Apart from that it was a nice day, our driver had a good eye for spotting animals and acted respectful as he wasn’t just trying to get as close to the animals as possible what a lot of other drivers ruthlessly and recklessly did. What disappointed me was that he didn’t tell us anything about the animals or the park, only pointing at them and telling us what kind of animal it was.

Day was perfect from the morning, everything is respected like it should be. Our guide Tiki was fantastic, with his help we saw all possible animals and recorded wonderful memories. Thanks to him.
