Full description

History of Wroclaw is long and complex. To understand it, you need to dive into the past of over 1000 years. The city is called Microcosm by professor Norman Davies due to being a part of different countries and its location in the middle of Europe. Davies said that everything, what happened in Europe, at some point happened in Wrocław as well: wars and religious struggle, wealth of trade city, Nazis and WWII with almost total annihilation of the city, becoming a part of communist block to final jump into freedom over 25 years ago. Our guide, Michael, was absolutely brilliant. His English was fluent and his knowledge of the city was superb. He endeavoured to ask all our questions, provided us with a document containing a summary of the tour for reflection and a list of recommendations for restaurants including both vegetarian and affordable traditional options. He was very engaging and made us all laugh. He also explained some of the history of the city, making a very complex story something we could all understand. We saw all the main sights and learnt more about the story behind the gnomes. Highly recommend this tour.

Suzanna was excellent and made the tour enjoyable. We felt really awkward when the tour concluded as most people on the tour had booked an an app for free and made a voluntary payment at the end of the tour. Suzanna wasn’t aware who had pre-paid or who needed to pay and we felt awkward leaving.

Szymon was an excellent tour guide in Wrocław .. so knowledgable and honest about the local life and culture which I appreciated .. he also offered some very handy local tips and hints if you ask .. highly recommended tour to quickly get to know Wrocław by walking .. even when raining !
