Barossa Valley: 30 Minute Scenic Helicopter Flight

Lifting off from the heli-pad in the Hoffnungsthal Valley, enjoy flying past the township of Lyndoch before tracking along the western ridge of the Barossa Valley to Historic Seppeltsfield. Here you will see vineyards contouring the rolling hills, palm tree studded roads and the Seppelt Family mausoleum. From there you will fly over Maggie Beer’s farm and the famous Penfold’s Winery before veering along the eastern side of Nuriootpa, around the Wolf Blass winery, and then marvelling at the view over the large limestone quarry near the town of Angaston. A little further on you will get a bird’s eye view of one of the most beautiful horse racing studs in south Australia – McEvoy-Mitchell Racing. From Angaston the view is an awesome 180-degree view of the Barossa valley and beyond, you can literally see for miles! As you descend into the valley towards Tanunda, your pilot will point out some of the historic buildings and settlements like Chateau Tanunda and Bethany. Beyond Tanunda is Rowland flat – home of the famous Jacobs Creek where you will view some of Australia’s largest wine tanks, some of which are up to 1.4 million litres each. From there we take you to the southern end of the Barossa, past Lyndoch, over the Barossa Goldfields and the Whispering Wall (the Barossa reservoir) before finally returning to the Hoffnungsthal Valley.

Brian was an excellent tour guide, sharing his knowledge of both Adelaide and the vineyards. We went to 3 vineyards which were fantastic and the food at Turkey Flats was delicious. There was a good mix of ages and nationalities. Being able to squeeze one more vineyard in would have made this perfect!

Amazing trip with lots of information, stories, and tasters from the three wineries we went to. Our guide Braden (apologies if name not spelt correctly) was very knowledgeable and never made you feel like anything was too much trouble.

It was such an awesome day! Our guide Peter was very helpful and did amazing for us! Wineries were lovely too. We really enjoyed everything. Would recommend for anyone visiting Adelaide. Thank you again.

3 beautiful tastings with very different wines. Very pleasant and well prepared lunch with an excellent bottle of rosé.
