On this easy to walk 2.5 km (one way) tour, you'll explore some of the theatres, film sets and historical buildings that make up the theatrical section of the city. Walk through where in days gone by you could catch a Vaudeville show or the all new "talking pictures". Hear about and see some of the oldest theatres in North America that still exist today like the Pantages and Orpheum Theatres, a little bit about the tragic event that happened here, and of the theatre fire history in Winnipeg. Tour highlights include The Met, Winnipeg's Exchange District, Old Market Square and the City Hall. See the Burton Cummings Theatre and hear its interesting history. You'll see and hear about some of the wonderful performing arts organizations that call this part of Winnipeg home today and their venues like the historical Tom Hendry Warehouse Theatre, the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre and the legacy behind the Manitoba Theatre Centre.
