Come explore the fascinating Victorian mansion built by Winchester rifle heiress, Sarah L. Winchester. Marvel at this vast, strange and unusual place. Take a 65-minute guided tour of this architectural marvel, built for 38 years from 1884. Experience beautiful stained glass windows, ornate parquet floors, and turn-of-the-century craftsmanship. Discover strange oddities such as doors to nowhere, stairs to the ceiling, and windows in the floor. See rooms bare with remnants of the 1906 earthquake damage, and others furnished with lounge chairs, grand pianos, and chandeliers. After your tour, walk round the beautiful the gardens, and enjoy the fresh flowers, picnic benches and palm trees. Try your hand at axe throwing or the shooting gallery for an additional charge, or browse for souvenirs at the gift shop.

My tour was fantastic and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. It was clear that she hadn't just memorized a script but instead was really passionate about the history of the house and Winchester family. We had a few kids in our tour group who had questions about anything and everything as kids do and our guide was able to answer almost all of their questions, even some of the sillier ones that only kids think of. If anything, I wish I had given myself more time and done my research before going in. I signed up for the 3:00 tour and arrived at 2:45 not realizing that the house closed at 5 and there were also activities, a self-guided garden tour, a "walk with spirits" tour that visits some of the more haunted areas of the house that aren't seen on the general tour.

Tour was great, the tour guide was amazing. We loved hearing about the history, but I felt it a tiny bit rushed! Our favourite part was exploring the gardens afterwards. Very cool tour but would have loved a little more time to explore rooms as everything was very taped off and structured.

Das Haus ist so geheimnisvoll und spannend. Mir hat die Führung und die Geschichte des Hauses dazu sehr gefallen! Wir waren 1,5 Stunden in dem Haus und man hätte noch so vieles mehr entdecken können! Eine Führung ist sinnvoll, weil man sich sonst verläuft und nicht wieder rausfindet.
