We had booked a safari at 2 p.m. The driver was on time and after buying the entrance tickets at the counter (25€ per person and 10€ per car + 18% tax) we were able to drive into the park with a few other jeeps. Our guide was super attentive when looking for animals and stopped long enough for us to take photos. After an hour and a half we had seen many other animals and birds but no leopards. Our driver was persistent and patiently asked the oncoming jeeps if there had been a sighting. Although all the jeeps said no, he remained hopeful and in the end we were lucky. An oncoming jeep told him a place and he drove there immediately. Here you could clearly see that he knew his way around and really wanted it to be an experience for us. When we arrived the leopard was still there. The driver's patience and persistence paid off here. It was very important to him that we could see as much as possible. Thank you for that!

I really enjoyed the visit at the Wilpattu National Park - I was able to see many wild animals, observe them in their own habitat and taking really great pictures that will remain in my heart forever! The driver offered an invaluable help in spotting animals and bringing me to the different beautiful locations of the park. I sensed a certain rush to find the leopard at all costs, despite the many other fantastic things to see during the visit. I recommend telling the driver your preferences, so as to set expectations of what you are really looking for during the visit.

Went for 2pm and had a jeep to myself. Despite the poor weather, we saw 3 sloth bears, and there wasn't many people around to disturb then as they came very close to the jeep. On our way back, we got very lucky and saw a leopard sitting in some cover. The driver was very helpful in dealing with the sudden weather change and it was a great experience!

We had a very enthusiastic guide! We saw a lot of wild animals: 2 leopards, 1 bear, several water buffalo, birds, crocodiles... You don't see any elephants in this park. Unlike other safaris we've done in Sri Lanka, we were often alone - out of sight of the other jeeps.
