Our visit was very enjoyable and educational. It was very awe-inspiring to be in a place with so much history and tradition and to realize it was still being used today. The architecture and beauty of the Abby was very humbling to witness. Also a little strange to think of all the people buried there.

Great experience, allow at least 1-1.5h for a quick run through, 2h for an in depth tour and reading all the tombstones and looking around. The audio tour is free with entry, which is £27 at the gate for adults. The audio tour takes roughly an hour with limited pausing, but you can listen in any language you want, pause and play it and select what you want to hear at any given point. The Abbey is gorgeous inside, beautiful Gothic architecture. So much history, a lot of what there is to see inside is gravestones and memorials and ephigies. Last Chapel is the most beautiful part in my opinion, so pretty with such intricate detail.

At first we thought we didn't have to queue in the huge queue as we assumed we had a "fast track" ticket, we also hadn't found the meeting point and ended up standing in line in the rain - that's life ;-). Westminster Abbey is wonderful, lots to see, see and read about and the audio guide assistance is very helpful. We were then in the Abbey for over 4 hours and had no more time for the gallery (exhibition with clothing, armour, crowns / royal jewelry, historical books and utensils... The super friendly lady at the entrance to the gallery wrote us a note that we 2 days later (without queuing and paying the entrance fee for the Abbey -> via the west exit) we were allowed to come and visit the gallery There was another super nice employee who personally handed us the non-public banner of the coronation of the Queen of 1953 showed - wow, it's all exciting
