The guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby in West Yellowstone in the order you were booked starting at 6AM. The guide will be driving a white Ford transit high roof van with a Yellowstone Hiking Guides logo. If you are staying outside West Yellowstone, you will be picked up at the West Yellowstone Visitor Education Center.

Josh and Spencer were great. They took the time to answer every question that was asked of them. They took turns providing us with all kinds of facts about the history of the park, from the first days of the parks inception to the 1988 fire and more. They found places for us to see wolves that we didn't know existed. We saw 7 wolves in a pack about a 1/3 of a mile away with spotter scopes. We also saw grizzly bears, elk, pronghorn sheep, and of course the "fluffy cows" or bison. They encouraged us to try and find the various animals throughout the park. Everyone was provided with Binoculars for individual use. We had a snack early on with a hot beverage of our choice, then for lunch we had a brown bag lunch with a massive turkey sandwich with fruit, nuts, and can drinks. The tour started with a 6am pickup from our hotel and was only supposed to last for 8 hours, but went almost an additional hour. I highly recommend this tour.

Join a local guide to spot bears, wolves, bison, pronghorn, and more. Relax in a comfortable van with huge windows, and take in all the wildlife the Lamar Valley has to offer.


Get picked up at 6:00 AM from your lobby. Start your adventure spotting wildlife along the Madison River in the early morning hours. Watch the sky change colors as the morning light hits the mountains.

After scoping for wildlife on Mount Washburn, enter the Lamar Valley for Yellowstone's most sought-after megafauna sightings. Called the Serengeti of North America, the Lamar Valley is home to over 60 mammals. Enjoy a light morning snack and a hot drink of coffee, tea, or cocoa, while watching wolves through a high-powered spotting scope.


Find bears on the mountainside with your binoculars. Look out for herds of bison and pronghorn as your van gets to places where a bus simply can't go.


Enjoy a hearty picnic lunch at Mammoth Hot Springs, while spotting elk and birds.


Take in the sights of the Gibbon River on the way back toward West Yellowstone, stopping for additional wildlife sightings along the way.
