NYC: Hudson Tour with Sleepy Hollow and Walkway Over Hudson

Our tour begins in the center of Midtown. From Grand Central we will take Metro North to Sleepy Hollow. There we will visit the historic hollow made famous by Washington Irving. You will get the opportunity to learn about this place and get to explore the historic graveyard. From there, we will travel up to Poughkeepsie. There we will visit the Walkway Over the Hudson where you will have breathtaking views of the river, the valley, and the nearby Catskill Mountains. From there, we will take the train down to the Hudson Highlands where will visit the charming village of Cold Spring. You will experience views of West Point, home of the US Military Academy and the sheer cliffs of Storm King. You will be shown some of the hidden gems of this location and then you will have the opportunity to spend the afternoon here. You can shop at one of Cold Spring’s many antique shops, take a hike on nearby trails, relax while eating lunch, or even have a beer in a barber shop. During our journey on the train, you will hear about many of the important and historic places along the way. In order to allow for maximum flexibility for you, our tour will conclude in Cold Spring, but you have the option to stay the afternoon and take a later train, take the train to another village, or head back to NYC at the conclusion of the tour. I highly recommend this day trip. The guide was prompt and well-organised and communicated well with our group of 5 people. The day included interesting visits to Sleepy Hallow, Poughkeepsie and Cold Springs, with the guide providing excellent information about each place. The train journey alongside the Hudson was incredible too, with plenty of photo opportunities and more information about the areas we passed through. All-in this was a good day out, beneficial if you fancy a day out of the City.

Absolutely brilliant, Bobby was so informative and the star of our trip to New York, definitely a must do, the whole event was well planned and organised, he was laid back, gave history and insight we would otherwise not have had. Also it’s super easy to get the train back from cold spring too! Thankyou so much I would recommend to anyone visiting nyc:)

Loved the history of the area. Bobby had a nice pace and presentation. It was a beautiful day to be there. Bobby was very kind when my husband came down with his sciatica and we had to leave the tour earlier than expected. He arranged Uber to the station and bought our tickets back to Grand Central. We will have to come another time.
