Full description

Follow the Cable Car signpost around Lambton Quay to find the hidden Cable Car Lane in the heart of the city centre.  Wellington's iconic Cable Car travels through three historic tunnels and over three bridges. There are three intermediate stations; the residential areas of Clifton, Talavera and Salamanca. Victoria University of Wellington and Kelburn Park Fountain can be accessed from the Salamanca Station. Enjoy the panoramic views of Wellington city and the harbor from the top of the Cable Car. To get back down into the city, there are several walks through the hillsides of the Botanic Garden, including a beautiful 40-minute stroll back down to the city centre via the historic Bolton Street Cemetery and the Beehive. Or if you prefer an easier route back down, choose the return journey option. This allows you plenty of time to enjoy the views and explore the surrounding attractions at the summit before heading back.

Great way to get to all the awesome places like Zealandia, Botanic Gardens, Space Observatory and Cable Car Museum. Really enjoyable ride with a great view at the top/colourfully lit tunnels, and very fast as well. Definitely worth the ticket price for a return trip!

My sister and i really enjoyed riding on the tram. The views up the top were spectacular, and the museum quaint. Didn't try the restaurant but it looked a nice menu. Lots of walks at the botanical gardens. Driver on way downwas super helpful with directions to where we wanted to go. Would definitely do this again

It was a nice quick and easy to get around trip. Once we got to the top we went for a stroll down to see the tree house, playground, gardens and museum. The hike back to the top was hard but good for the excercise.. definitely recommend wearing active footwear, cos i had jandals on it made walk a bit more difficult. We spent around 4hrs up there. Enjoyed it for sure!
