Weiße Elster

Set off on a river cruise onboard an electric motorboat to explore the Leipzig floodplain forest. Experience the biodiversity of the flora and fauna and admire the city's industrial heritage. Travel across the flood bed along the Pleiße, away from the street noise of the big city. From there, ride past the newly renovated grandstand of the racecourse at the "Scheibenholz" to the Palmengartenwehr. Leave the Elster flood bed and turn into the Weiße Elster, and see Germany's first mail-order business and the Gründerzeit industrial buildings in Plagwitz. Travel along the Weiße Elster and navigate the Karl-Heine-Canal. Passing the former "Riverboat", turn off at the stilt house and drive back to the starting point at the wildlife park.

Cruise along the waterways of Leipzig and admire the city views from the water aboard a motorboat. Sail the Karl-Heine Canal, travel through Plagwitz and Schleußig, and see historical buildings along the way. Begin the journey with a ride to the White Elster to see Germany's first mail order business and the Wilhelminian industrial buildings in Plagwitz. Leave the White Elster and sail down the Karl-Heine Canal. Then, turn around at the stilt house and sail past the starting point, along the palm garden weir, and into the Elstermühlgraben. Round off your trip by sailing back to the starting point.
