Full description

Get picked up from your desired pick-up location along the Mombasa coast. Drive North towards Watamu and arrive at the Marine Park. Board a double decker boat and begin an incredible tour over the coral reefs with the opportunity to see incredible marine life.

Relax in the sun on the top deck and try to spot dolphins, within the seasons between May and October. Climb back onto the boat, and continue towards the Marine Park. Only the Great Barrier Reef itself has a bigger range of species list and the marine protected area in Watamu is also recognized internationally as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Stop to snorkel and shallow dive here, where it is virtually impossible to not see a few dozen species of fish inside the main reef. On the fringe, you'll have an excellent chance of viewing the magnificent whale shark or manta rays that are seasonal visitors. The park is also home to 3 species of sea turtles that nest on the beaches. After snorkeling, head over to the white sandy beaches where you will be allowed to step off the boat for a swim in the crystal clear blue waters for a while. Then set sail for Sudi Island where you can enjoy the views of the lush green mangroves along the creek side. A

t around 1 PM arrive on the island where you'll receive a warm welcome and little entertainment. Enjoy a seafood lunch then take a guided canoe ride into the mangrove forest. Depart from the island at around 4 PM and return to the marine park, where your driver will be waiting for you to return you back to your pick-up location.

November 4, 2022

We were picked up incredibly early and travelled 2 hours north to Watamu, we arrived there at 0845am ready to leave at 0930am. Unfortunately, we only started boarding the boat at 1000am. As we boarded the boat, comments were made (in Swahili) about us being white. The boat then spent an hour waiting for other passengers from another beach. This led to us leaving an hour and a half late. This resulted in us being rushed at the different locations. On the island that hosted the meal, the chicken option was not comparable to the seafood option (i.e. there were only two pieces of chicken compared to three or four seafood servings). Overall, this was a disappointing trip considering the cost. I cannot realistically recommend anyone to opt to do it.
