Embark on a guided walking tour around Heldenplatz in Vienna. Marvel at the iconic square and gardens as you stroll around. For a long time, there was very little private green space in the city. Except for the so-called glacis, there were no public parks of any kind. After parts of the city wall were blown up at Napoleon's behest in 1809, new open spaces suddenly appeared. This laid the foundation for new green and garden areas. Of course, these gardens and parks did not allow for strolling as we know it today. But what did it look like there at that time and for whom were these green oases intended then? Come with me and discover two of the most beautiful parks in downtown Vienna!
