Full description
Discover the everyday life of local Russians. The Trans-Siberian Railway railway was built in 1916 connecting Moscow to the Russian Far East and is the longest railway in the world, stretching an incredible 9288 kilometers. With your guide you'll hop on the Trans-Siberian Railway for a forty minute journey out of the city to the countryside to visit a real Russian Dacha.  From the train station out of the city you will enjoy a short trip through the Russian countryside, passing charming country houses, dense forests and a picturesque coastline along the Amursky Bay. You will visit a traditional Russian summer house called a dacha. A dacha is usually a wooden house consisting of one or two floors without much in the way of modern conveniences. The dacha is a unique phenomenon in the life of anyone who lives in the boundless expanses of the Russian Federation. At summer's peak, many Russians don't venture beyond the country's borders. The reason is that many Russians have dachas, their country houses. August brings the harvest for their small garden plots, but a dacha is much more than just an economic benefit: it embodies a culture dating back to Communist times. With your guide you will discover what Russians grow in their gardens, taste a homemade Russian meal or have the chance to cook a barbecue together with your guide, having the chance to taste traditional Russian cuisine, including vodka, baked potatoes and pickled vegetables. Explore how Russians spend their summer time outside of the cities. In the beautiful countryside you will also visit local farmers market where you'll be able to purchase a variety of local produce directly from the farmers. After exploring the countryside you'll take the train back to the city.
