In 1111 AD Henry V of Franconia, King Germany, was traveling to Rome with his Bishop Johannes Defuk that is very passionate about wine. Once unpon he asked the his servant Martin to precede him looking for the best wine and, just found, signal it with the words "est" which in Latin means "there is". When he arrived in the town of Montefiascone, the servant found wine so good that he repeated the signal three times, accompanied by six exclamation marks: thus the famous "Est! Est!! Est!!!". After the wine tasting and sightseeing after 15 minutes by van we arrived to Civita di Bagnoregio. It is called the "dying city" because the land on which it stands is slowly falling away and will inevitably disappear when the final pieces crumble into the spectacular Valle dei Calanchi below.
